I am working with lead halide perovskite (LHP) nanocrystals. Due to their optoelectronic properties the nanocrystals are promising for the application in LEDs or solar cells. For the construction of such devices, it is important to know the absolute band edge positions of each material involved, since the alignment of the band edges can result in a fast electron/hole transport. One possibility to modify the absolute band edge position of nanoparticles is to exchange the ligand shell. Our research focuses on revealing the influence of the ligand shell on LHP nanocrystals. Therefore, I am trying to establish a ligand exchange protocol (with each different ligand) and I study the electronic properties by spectroelectrochemistry. In doing so, I am combining photoluminescence measurements with electrochemical data.
