Florian Berens

Florian Berens ist seit März 2023 wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter am Hector-Institut für Empirische Bildungsforschung der Universität Tübingen.

Am dortigen Tübingen Center for Randomized Controlled Field Trials untersucht er, wie verschiedene Datenformate innerhalb bildungswissenschaftlicher Interventionsstudien verknüpft werden können. Insbesondere nutzt er dabei Verknüpfungen von Befragungsdaten und Testdaten mit digitalen Verhaltensspuren aus digitalen Lernsystemen. Aber auch qualitative Datenformen werden zur Analyse berücksichtigt. Er versucht damit, klassische bildungswissenschaftliche Ansätze und moderne Learning Analytics zu einem holistischen Blick auf Lernprozesse zu formen.

Florian Berens nutzt seine methodisch vielfältige Herangehensweise, um die Effektivität von Bildungsinterventionen umfassend zu untersuchen. Im Fokus steht die Analyse der Effektivität von Bildungstechnologien. Insbesondere untersucht Florian Berens Möglichkeiten zur Gestaltung von Feedback-Prozessen innerhalb digitaler Lernumgebungen und deren kognitive und motivationale Auswirkungen. Er betrachtet dabei neben den Effekten auf die Lernleistung auch Auswirkungen auf Motivation, Interesse, Selbstkonzept und fachspezifische Beliefs. Diese Effekte betrachtet er nicht nur allgemein, sondern auch in Abhängigkeit von persönlichen Eigenschaften der Lernenden.

Neben eigenen Forschungsprojekten wirkt Florian Berens am Hector-Institut aktuell in den Projekten Interact4School und AI2Teach mit und ist außerdem in der Lehre im Bereich methodischer Ausbildung tätig.
