COSY-TOF
The physics goal of the COSY-TOF Collaboration are measurements of meson production in proton-proton and proton-deuteron collisions from threshold to some 100 MeV excess energies.
Due to the kinematical completeness of the measurements all observables can be determined: total and differential cross sections, angular distributions, Dalitz Plots, etc.
The shape of the distribution of these variables can be compared with results of theoretical predictions which give a better understanding of the nucleon - nucleon, nucleon - meson and meson - meson interaction, of the excitation of nucleon resonances and of the specific production mechanism of the reaction channels.
The experimental setup can be modified into Short or Long versions.
