Talk @ NIP by Matthias Kümmerer

Matthias Kümmerer from the Bethge lab Tübingen will give a talk about "Theano - efficient numerical calculations in Python" at the AG NIP, Sand 6, on Tuesday, the 18th of November, 2014, from 11:00-12:00.

Matthias Kümmerer

Abstract:

Thenao is a python library for numerical calculations. It allows to write down mathematical expressions in an easy and intuitive way but reaches the speed of pure C implementations. Theano integrates tightly with numpy while at the same time featuring efficient optimization of calculations, automatic differentiation, automatic parallization and usage of GPUs.

In my tutorial-like talk I will give an introduction to the concepts of Theano and show their application in a range of examples, including optimizing a probabilistic model from my recent research.

He is a graduate student at the<link http: bethgelab.org people external-link-new-window externen link in neuem> Bethge lab in Tübingen.

You are cordially invited!
