Marianna Zarantonello ist seit Oktober 2024 wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin am Asien-Orient-Institut der Universität Tübingen.
Sie studierte Klassische Philologie, Alte Geschichte und Arabistik an der Universität Padua in Italien und im Jahr 2022 wurde sie an der Universität Padua in Philologie, Sprach- und Literaturwissenschaften und an der Universität Zürich in Islamwissenschaft promoviert (cotutelle de thèse). Bis Mai 2023 war sie als Forschungsstipendiatin am Institut für mittelalterliche Philosophie der Universität Padua und seit Oktober 2023 ist sie am Asien-Orient-Institut in Tübingen, zunächst als Teach@Tübingen-Stipendiatin und dann als DAAD PRIME Fellow (Ausländisches Gastinstitut: University of Exeter).
