About the lecture:
Why do some climate policies face resistance, even among people who recognize human-caused climate change? Drawing on Cultural Cognition Theory and survey data from nine European countries, this talk examines the interplay between cultural worldviews, perceived climate change and energy transition risks, with particular attention to how different risk profiles are associated with support for specific climate policy instruments.
Dr. Aline Bartenstein is a researcher at the Chair of Sustainability Transition Policy at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), where her research focuses on sustainability transition policies, accompanying narratives, and energy crises. Previously, she worked at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (IFSH) at the University of Hamburg and the Jean Monnet Chair for EU Studies at the University of Cologne. She holds a PhD from the University of Cologne, where she completed her dissertation on European energy solidarity in 2021.
The lecture will be held in English
