Ya-chun Liu is a PhD candidate at the University of Nottingham, UK. Her PhD thesis examines how Taiwan’s socio-political history has shaped the linguistic and cultural transfer of Christian-themed fiction from the Anglophone world into Taiwan. Her current research project looks at how the paradigm of ‘Transitional Justice’, which is based on values that are key in modern political thinking such as justice, human rights, democracy, has been transferred into the Chinese-speaking world from linguistic, cultural and social perspectives, with the case of Taiwan as the focus and cases of China and Hong Kong as comparative references.
