Der Fokus unserer Forschung liegt hauptsächlich auf der Flow-Chemie. Dabei geht es uns vorranging um die Entwicklung neuer Anwendungen dieser innovativen Synthesemethode im breiten Gebiet der organischen Chemie.
Flow-Chemie bietet dabei einzigartige Vorteile, wie eine verbesserte Misch- und Heizeffizienz und einem einfachen Scale-up bei gleichzeitiger Reduzierung der Reaktionszeit und einem geringeren Lösungsmittelverbrauch. Aufgrund dieser Eigenschaften wurden bereits im letzten Jahrzehnt zahlreiche Anwendungen für Forschung und industrielle Synthese entwickelt. Ein großer Nachteil und Grund warum viele Forschungseinrichtungen immer noch von dieser Methode absehen, ist der hohe Preis und die Größe kommerziell erhältlichen Komplettsysteme. Um die Forschung weiter voran zu bringen und Flow-Chemie in Forschungseinrichtungen stärker zu etablieren, müssen diese Systeme erschwinglicher und kompakter werden. Wir kombinieren unsere Erfahrungen im 3D-Druck und in der Synthesechemie, um Flow-Equipment zu entwickeln, welches kompakt, erschwinglich und flexible einsetzbar ist.

Die Flow Systeme weden für verschiedene chemische Synthesen engesetzt, z.B. für die Synthese von Radiopharmaka in Koorperation mit dem Werner Siemens Imaging Center (WSIC) der UKT.
