The black hole physics that cannot be tested with black hole shadows

Kostas Glampedakis, Universidad de Murcia / TAT-IAAT - July 11th, 2022

The recently obtained horizon-scale images of the shadow cast by supermassive black holes represent a spectacular feat of astronomy and have opened yet another observational window to relativistic gravity. In this talk we discuss some aspects of gravitational physics that pose a greater challenge for being probed using the properties of black hole shadows.
