The Weimar/Barsan working group is involved in the investigation of various gas sensors based on semiconducting metal oxides. The topics for theses include:

    Characterization of new sensor materials.
    Investigation of the basic chemical and physical processes of gas detection using operando methods.
    Influence of additives and nanostructuring on gas-sensitive properties.
    Development of models for the prediction of sensor properties and comparison with experimental data.
