Circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) is characterized by a difference in emission intensity of right- and left-handed circularly polarized light. Its potential applications include displays, quantum computing and cryptography. One class of CPL-emitters are nanocrystals with chiral ligands, which feature a chirality transfer from the ligands to the nanocrystals. However, this chirality transfer is not yet fully understood.

This project focusses on the investigation of CdSe-nanoplatelets, capped with chiral ligands, synthesized in the group of Sandrine Ithurria to get a better understanding of CPL.
