Julia Klumbach is a PhD candidate in American Studies at the University of Tübingen. She studied English and American Studies, Math, and History at the University of Tübingen, Maynooth University, Ireland, and Stockholm University, Sweden, graduating with a Master of Education and a Master of Arts in American Studies.

Building on her master’s thesis, which focused on the narrative of masculinity in crisis as a consequence of the 1960s, her current research examines how the 1960s are remembered and narrated by American conservatives in the Trump era.
