Since October 2020, Setareh Maghsudi is an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tübingen University, where she leads the research group "Decision Making'. Besides, she is an adjunct lecturer at the "Network Information Theory' group at TUB and a senior project manager at the Fraunhofer Heinrich-Hertz-Institute (HHI). Her research focuses on artificial intelligence and decision-making under uncertainty, in particular in networked multi-agent systems. Her research is motivated by engineering applications such as the Internet of Things. She is a faculty member of several research institutes and graduate research schools in Germany, including the Einstein Center for Digital Future (ECDF), Helmholtz Einstein International Berlin Graduate School of Date Science (HEIBRIDS), and the International Max-Plank Research School on Intelligent Systems (IMPRS-IS). She has been a member of the technical program committee in several top-ranked conferences and has served as the reviewer/panel member for several grants and journals.

She obtained her Ph.D. degree from TUB in 2015, with the highest honors. Afterward, she worked as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Manitoba, Canada, and Yale University, USA. During 2017-2020, Setareh was an assistant professor at the Technical University of Berlin (TUB), where she led the research group Control of Convergent Access Networks. During 2018-2020, she was a short-term visiting scholar at the University of Oxford, Alan Turing Institute, and the Cambridge University, UK. In Summer 2019, she was a research fellow at the Kyushu University, Japan. Setareh has won several competitive fellowships, including fellowships from the German Research Foundation (DFG) in 2015 and the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) in 2019. Moreover, she has received an AI young scientist research grant from the German Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in 2020 for Project MABISS.
