Our group is interested in a mechanistic understanding of multicellular development in flowering plants with a special focus on reproductive development.
Central aspects of our research are signaling cascades and transcriptional networks involved in cell polarization and pattern formation. We are hereby mainly focusing on early embryogenesis and seed development but are also working on other developmental contexts in comparative studies.
We are using a multi-disciplinary approach combining genetics and genomics, evolutionary biology, biochemistry, structural biology, as well as advanced microscopy. Our experiments range from the organismal to the atomic level.
