The project aims at carving out differing understandings of the phenomenon of migration in the disciplines of history and sociology. It intends to look at conceptualizations and typologies from macro- and microsociological perspectives. Running through typologies of migration between 300-900 and applying sociological interpretations in order to sketch out some differences in conceptualizations, the project aims to deliver some tentative conclusions and trigger some interdisciplinary discussions.
