Erik Jones is <link https: www.sais-jhu.edu erik-jones external-link-new-window external link in new>Director of European and Eurasian Studies and Professor of European Studies and International Political Economy at the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) of the Johns Hopkins University. He is also Senior Research Fellow at Nuffield College in Oxford. Previously, he worked at the Centre for European Policy Studies, the Central European University, and the University of Nottingham.

His research agenda covers the topics of International Political Economy, Globalization, and Governance, focusing mainly on Europe and Transatlantic Relations. Erik Johes has published extensively on European politics and is a frequent commentator for numerous newspapers and magazines. He is also co-editor of Government and Opposition and contributing editor to Survival.

Among his most recent publications are The Year the European Crisis Ended (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), Weary Policeman: American Power in an Age of Austerity (with Dana Allin) (Routledge 2012), and the reference works Handbook of Italian Politics (co-ed. with Gianfranco Pasquino) (Oxford Univ. Press, 2015), and The Oxford Handbook of the European Union (co-ed. with Anand Menon and Stephen Weatherill) (Oxford Univ. Press, 2012).
