The academic debate on antisemitism in institutional contexts of education and social work has a relatively short history. It is only in recent years, with the increasing focus on contemporary antisemitism from Jewish perspectives and individual empirical studies on antisemitism in educational settings, that critical and intersectional analyses of antisemitism have emerged. These analyses are raising greater awareness amongst the professional community of the impact of anti-Semitic structures and practices. The socio-political developments and the charged, politicised discussions surrounding anti-Semitism in post-Nazi, post-colonial society highlight the need for – and the challenges posed by – anti-Semitism-critical and intersectional alliances, as well as networks of solidarity. This anthology aims to provide insights into the priorities and current trends in research, education and social work that are critical of anti-Semitism and intersectional, whilst exploring recent developments.
