Microwave Team Tübingen

Dr. Daniel Bothner

Welcome to the Microwave Team Tübingen (MTT) website. As a subgroup of the solid state physics department (Prof. R. Kleiner and Prof. D. Koelle), we are interested in different research directions with one common element: electromagnetic microwave resonators. In most cases these microwave resonators are superconducting LC circuits or standing-wave waveguide cavities on microchips, but they can also be of different nature, for example normal-metal 3D microwave cavities. Besides being interested in the fundamental properties of such resonators in external magnetic fields and with integrated Josephson inductances, we are focused on building and investigating various kinds of hybrid systems, which consist of microwave resonators and micromechanical oscillators, low-frequency LC circuits, spin ensembles and cold atoms.

An overview of our different research directions can be found in the research section, our publications are listed (here) and if you are interested in working with us have a look at our openings (positions and BEP/MEP research projects) or just send an email to Daniel Bothner.
