Curriculum Vitae
Elena Mucciarelli has graduated (cum laude) in 2007 in Classical Literature at the Università degli Studi di Milano with a thesis entitled “Una radice indoeuropea del desiderio nella Ṛgvedasaṃhitā” (Supervisors Prof. Cinzia Pieruccini and Dr. Paola Rossi, second supervisor Prof. Roberto Giacomelli). In 2007-2008 she was awarded with a two-years grant for studying abroad by the same University to develop her research on ritual language in Brāhmaṇas at Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen, under the supervision of Dr. Mirella Lingorska.
In 2011 she has completed her PhD in Indological and Tibetan Studies at the University of Turin-Milan and in Cultural Studies at the Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen, within the program “Bi-nationally Supervised Doctoral thesis” (“co-tutelle de these”). Her research, tutored by Prof. Giuliano Boccali and Prof. Klaus Butzenberger, dealt with the change in the language and semantics along the development of the Vedic ritual:
"Changes in the semantics between the Ṛgveda Saṃhitā and the Brāhamaṇas".
In the academic year 2011-2014 she has collaborated with the Università degli Studi di Milano offering seminars on Vedic culture and language (2011-2012) and on Indian theater (2013-2014); From 2010 until 2012 she has worked for the IULM (Libera Università di Lingue e Comunicazione) giving lectures on ritual forms in the Indian Subcontinent.
During the year 2013 she has been fellow researcher at the Università degli Studi di Cagliari within the international project "Traces of an Heterodox Concept of Kingship in Ancient, Medieval and Modern India" (U.E. / RAS Research Project), coordinated by Dr. Tiziana Pontillo.
Between 2014 and 2016 she has been fellow researcher within the Project "Kudiyattam: Living Sanskrit Theater in the Kerala Tradition” at the Institute of Indology and Comparative Religion, Eberhard-Karls Universität Tübingen.
Between 2015 and 2016 she was principal investigator in the Project:
supported by the Institutional Strategy of the University of Tübingen (DFG, ZUK 63).
Since 2017 she is research assistant in the project “"Das Hermann-Gundert Portal" (funded by DFG) at the Eberhard Karls Universität Bibliothek.
