Biomedical Magnetic Resonance

Our focus

Understanding the fundamentals of magnetic resonance physics and advancement of this technology currently represents a major focus of our research. Thereby, utilization and optimization of the principal advantages that are offered by the multi-parametric nature of the magnetic resonance signal formation is specifically targeted. This has resulted in and will increasingly lead to sophisticated applications in the biochemical, physiological and clinical sciences.

Magnetic Resonance in Neuroscience

In the field of neurosciences magnetic resonance plays a key role in the visualization and understanding of morphology and neuronal processes in the living brain. Especially the significantly increased sensitivity and specificity at very high magnetic fields at 3 Tesla, 7 Tesla and beyond, as well as the development of novel and highly selective acquisition and post processing techniques, will enable a highly detailed assessment and characterization of the healthy and diseased brain.
