Jung Jihye is a PhD candidate at the Graduate School of East Asian Studies (GEAS), Freie Universität Berlin, and a Junior Fellow (2026–27) at the Kyujanggak Institute for Korean Studies. Supported by the DAAD Graduate School Scholarship Programme, her research examines women workers’ struggles for social rights in Cold War South Korea and the transnational solidarities that shaped their political visibility, with a focus on Korean diaspora networks in Germany. Her paper was accepted for presentation at the Situations International Conference (Taipei, Oct 2025). Her research interests include democratization and social movements, gendered labor precarity, transnational solidarity, and Cold War human-rights regimes.
