The New York Times: In Defense of Daydreaming

The New York Times published Kou Murayama's study which deals with the topic of letting your mind wander and benefit your brain by just daydreaming from time to time. Try to intentionally focus on your own thoughts instead of daydream while doing e.g. an important work task that requires relatively high mental effort.
The study tested the hypothesis that people metacognitively underestimate their capability to enjoy the process of “just thinking.”
