Tübinger Vereinigung für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft e.V.
Der EKW-Verlag gehört zur Tübinger Vereinigung für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft e.V. (TVEKW), die bereits seit 1963 besteht (früher Tübinger Vereinigung für Volkskunde e.V., TVV). Ursprünglich wurden Verein und Verlag zur Publikation von Doktorarbeiten am Ludwig-Uhland-Institut (LUI), gegründet. Heute gehört der EKW-Verlag zu den wenigen Wissenschaftsverlagen in Eigenregie eines Instituts. Zweck des Vereins ist es, die kulturwissenschaftliche Arbeit in Forschung und Lehre zu unterstützen. Er fördert Ausstellungen und Tagungen sowie Vorträge, aber auch Exkursionen und Feste, die zu den lehrreichsten und schönsten Erfahrungen am LUI gehören. Als Bindeglied zwischen dem Institut und den Absolvent*innen organisiert die TVEKW Veranstaltungen für und mit Ehemaligen.

Mit der "Tübinger Vereinigung für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft" (TVEKW) hat das Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft schon lange vorweggenommen, was unter "Alumni" nun auch von der Universität Tübingen gefördert wird. Alumni - das sind Kontaktstellen, die einen dichten Zusammenhalt zwischen der Universität/den Instituten und ihren Absolventen und Absolventinnen herstellen sollen.
50 Jahre TVEKW
2013 wird die Tübinger Vereinigung für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft 50 Jahre alt. Aus diesem Anlass präsentiert die TVEKW und das LUI eine Ausstellung mit dem Titel "Wissenschaft homemade. 50 Jahre Tübinger Vereinigung für Volkskunde", die unter der Leitung von Bernhard Tschofen und Thomas Thiemeyer von Studierenden des LUI konzipiert wurde. Das Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft sucht mit Nachdruck gerade durch die TVEKW (ca. 450 Mitglieder) einen intensiven Austausch mit seinen Absolventinnen und Absolventen. Wir möchten aber darüber hinaus Interessierte auch gerne regelmäßig mit einem elektronischen "Newsletter" über das Institutsgeschehen (Veranstaltungen, Publikationen, Ausstellungen) informieren.
Und natürlich kooperieren wir eng mit "Tübingen Alumni". So beteiligt sich das Institut seit 2003 mit einem eigenen Programmteil am alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden Tübinger "Alumni-Wochenende".
Wie gesagt: Dem Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empirische Kulturwissenschaft ist ein intensiver Kontakt mit seinen Absolventinnen und Absolventen, aber auch mit Interessierten wichtig. Wir sind daher für Anregungen und Vorschläge sehr dankbar und laden herzlich zur Mitarbeit ein.
