Our working group hosts a fully equipped mineral separation lab doing routine and efficient separation of various minerals (e.g. apatite, zircon, quartz) from rocks and sediments
Liberation of minerals from rocks is done with a Selfrag instrument or various sizes of jaw crushers
Concentration of target minerals is done through various separation steps, based on grains size, gravity and magnetic susceptibility
For this we do have various lab equipment such as Wilfley table, Frantz magnetic separator and different heavy liquids
Hand picking of grains is possible with various binocular microscopes
