Hannah Lönneker is a PhD candidate in the Diagnostics and Cognitive Neuropsychology group. Besides working on her dissertation, she is also involved in teaching (diagnostics and research seminars, co-advision of final theses). She completed both her bachelor’s and master’s degree in psychology in Tübingen. Her time as a research intern at the German Primate Centre in Göttingen and the anesthesiology at Charité Berlin shaped her interest in neuropsychological research in the elderly. After diving into linguistic influences on numerical cognition in her bachelor’s thesis and testing Parkinson’s students for her master’s thesis, she now investigates calculation in Parkinson’s Disease. Her focus is on the following questions: Which basic numerical and calculation deficits do Parkinson’s patients show in comparison to healthy elderly? Can calculation deficits be used for the diagnosis of cognitive impairments? Can calculation deficits be explained with domain-general impairments? How can numerical activities of daily living be measured? How do calculation deficits differ between distinct neurodegenerative dementias? She tries to answer these questions using experimental behavioural methods and systematic literature reviews. Additionally, she works on psychometric criteria in the diagnosis of calculation abilities and replications of effects in number cognition. All her research is shaped by open science principles, especially based on registered reports and open data, material and analyses.
