PhD Dissertation.
My PhD dissertation focuses on the concept of precariousness in the works of Jean Rhys. I explore how literature—especially Rhys’s writing—reflects the fragile and unstable conditions of life, both socially and economically. Precarity is not just a literary concern; it is a pressing issue faced by many individuals across different societies today. From job insecurity and marginalization to forced migration and structural discrimination, precariousness affects a wide range of people. Rhys’s work powerfully captures these realities, particularly from the perspectives of women, minorities, and those living on the margins.
