The ECRF offers researchers in the field of federalism the opportunity to undertake a research visit of at least two weeks and up to three months at our centre. Early-career researchers in particular are welcome to apply for such a visit at any time. We can offer you a desk, access to our archive and the catalogue of the University Library. We are also happy to help arrange meetings with experts in the field both inside and outside our institute. You conduct your research independently.

For your application, please send us the following documents at least three months before the start of your desired stay: 

• A curriculum vitae (CV);
• A letter of motivation containing (1) information about the specific subject(s) you would like to study during your visit; (2) the means you would like to use, if applicable; and (3) the dates you would like to undertake your research visit.

Visiting scholars must arrange their own travel and accommodation. International visitors can seek assistance from the Welcome Center of the University of Tübingen. Please also note that the ECRF cannot offer any financial support or remuneration. However, we are happy to assist you in applying for external funding.
