The lecture teaches fundamental and applied geophysics: gravimetry, magnetics, electrics, electromagnetics, seismics, seismology, tomography, ground penetrating radar. Three exercises (geomagnetics, geoelectrics, refraction seismics) accompany the lecture, conducted in smaller groups at field sites in or near Tübingen.
For students in geoscience the geophysics course is combined with the course in plate tectonics.
Advanced Geophysics (Master Course)
Geophysical methods are presented in more detailed way. Theory becomes much more into the focus than during the Bachelor course in order to develop a deeper understanding. Indoor and outdoor exercises are also included. The exact contents of the course is not fixed and may change from year to year.
