Cheng-tian Kuo is Taiwanese Chair of Chinese Studies at the International Institute for Asian Studies of Leiden University in the Netherlands. His home affiliation is Political Science Department and Graduate Institute of Religious Studies of National Chengchi University in Taiwan. His major research area is religious politics. He is the author of Religion and Democracy in Taiwan (State University of New York Press, 2008) and editor of Religion and Nationalism in Chinese Societies (Amsterdam University Press, forthcoming).
