Keynote lecture
This year's speaker in the Hilgendorf Lecture will be Dr. Denise Kühnert, head of the Transmission, Infection, Diversification & Evolution Group research group at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, and Max Planck Institute for Geoanthropology in Jena. Dr Kühnert’s main scientific goal is a broader understanding of infectious disease dynamics of modern and ancient pathogen outbreaks that shaped human history. At the interface of mathematical epidemiology, evolution, ecology and infectious diseases, she develops phylogenetic tools to address questions in the fields of epidemiology and pathogen evolution. She will present her talk entitled “Tracking the evolution and epidemiology of infectious disease agents over months, years and millennia”.
Registration and Abstract submission
Attendance of the meeting is free of charge and open to all interested students (any level) and faculty, including those not directly affiliated with the EVEREST grad school. All participants (contributors and attendees) need to register no later than 14 October 2024 through the Meeting registration form. Here, contributors of poster and oral presentations also submit their Abstract, including contribution Title, Author(s), Affiliation(s), and Abstract (150 words maximum).
Oral and poster presentation formats
Oral contributions are 15 minutes, followed by a 5 min discussion. Projections will be from a Windows PC. The presentation should be provided before the meeting as PowerPoint (.pptx) or PDF files — we prefer the latter to avoid compatibility problems. Posters are vertical with A0 dimensions (1189 mm x 841 mm). There will be a dedicated poster session with snacks and drinks.
Meeting announcement poster
Promote the event by sharing the meeting announcement poster through digital and analogue channels.
Meeting Dinner
Attendants are invited to join for our informal meeting dinner in the restaurant Neckarmüller (one drink and food included), starting after the Hilgendorf lecture.
