LBK typochronology is based on the analysis of correlations of types, each of which has little chronological significance. The process that led to the accumulation of finds in features and the function and location of Bandkeramik pits in relation to houses are still largely not understood. The large-scale excavations in Eythra, Saxony, and the DFG's long-standing funding of the analyses led to a revaluation of the models developed in the Aldenhovener Platte project.
