Laura Sophia Limmer earned a bachelor’s degree in prehistoric and protohistoric archaeology from the University of Würzburg and specialized in Paleoanthropology in the Archaeological Science master’s program at the University of Tübingen. In February 2018, she started as a doctoral candidate and research assistant in the DFG project “Diet and Physiological Stresses in Paleolithic non-adults” under the supervision of Dr. Sireen El Zaatari. 
After her Master thesis on dental macrowear and age determination in Neanderthals, Laura Sophia Limmer continues her research in the field of dental anthropology. In her doctoral dissertation, she is now focusing on the reconstruction of development and physiological stresses in sub adult individuals from the Paleolithic. Combining dental enamel growth disruptions and dietary microwear, her research aims to record physiological stress manifestations in relation to diet in order to explore its implications on hominin life history patterns and behavior.
