Francesco Coti Zelati CSIC, Institute of Space Sciences, Barcelona, Spain - February 12, 2024
This talk will provide an overview of my recent research on strongly magnetized isolated neutron stars and weakly magnetized neutron stars in low-mass X-ray binary systems. I will present key results derived from observations of magnetar outbursts over the past years, the creation of the first comprehensive catalog of these events, and the (unexpected) discovery of magnetar-like activities across various neutron star types. I will also present the results of the successful identification of new transitional millisecond pulsars and the ensuing multiband observational campaigns aimed at understanding the mechanisms powering their emission.
