I am enthusiastic about Quaternary geochronology, specifically luminescence dating. Previously, as part of my PhD research, I tested and developed the infrared radiofluorescence (IR-RF) dating method applied to both coarse-grained K-feldspar and polymineral fine-grains, on loess sediments from the Luochuan loess-palaeosol sequence on the Chinese Loess Plateau. Additionally I compared the IR-RF signal with the more conventional post-IR IR stimulated luminescence (pIRIRSL) and with the newly developed IR photo luminescence (IRPL) signals in coastal sediments from Sardinia, Italy. Starting in 2023, I will be working on a DFG funded project in which we will investigate the characteristics and potential of yellow stimulated luminescence signals from feldspar for dating Quaternary sediments.
