CCT is open!

On April 21, 2016, the China Centre officially opened with a ceremony at the University of Tübingen festival hall. Welcoming speeches were given by the rector of the University of Tübingen, Prof. Bernd Engler, Prof. Karl Schlecht of the Karl Schlecht Foundation, one of CCT's founders and chief supporters, Prof. Dong Qi, PRC Embassy Counsellor and Prof. Helwig Schmidt-Glintzer, CCT's inaugural director. CCT Vice-Director, Jun. Prof. Matthias Niedenführ, gave a speech to thank everyone who helped bring the centre into being and introduced the keynote speaker, internationally renowned scholar Professor Tu Wei-ming. Almost 500 guests attended the ceremony and the lively reception which was catered by some of our Chinese friends and colleagues here in Tübingen.
