Junior Account Manager - Job Description

General Job Description

This position is responsible for supporting the sales activities of Hanwha Advanced Materials Frankfurt Branch composite materials products worldwide. The Junior Account Manager will assist in selling the company’s products and services by leveraging technical, organizational, and customer knowledge to support customer needs and contribute to revenue generation. Additionally, this role involves participating in marketing efforts, market planning, and the technical development of products and services. The Junior Account Manager will work closely with senior team members to coordinate sales activities, establish sales territories, and support sales strategy implementation.

Core Duties/Responsibilities:

Includes but is not limited to:

Customers:

  • Support account management, technical support functions, and marketing efforts.
  • Assist in developing customer relationships throughout the value chain.
  • Aid in contract negotiations with customers, supported by senior leadership. These may include agreements related to pricing, new business, etc.
  • Work with the Hanwha Branch team to understand and meet customer needs.
  • Assist in resolving outstanding customer issues.
  • Build relationships within customer organizations to influence key decision-makers, with guidance from senior staff.
  • Learn and understand customer organizational structures to develop strategies to serve them effectively.
  • Maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of customers.
  • Support the sales team with customer-related tasks and interface with HQ as needed.

Administration:

  • Assist in the development of annual budgets for revenue and new business.
  • Support the monitoring of sales incentive plans to help meet growth commitments.
  • Help review operational records and reports to track sales and profitability.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of sales exhibits, trade shows, and training conferences on selling and marketing programs.

Leadership:

  • Assist in supporting account managers, technical development teams, and marketing personnel to achieve business targets.
  • Support staffing, training, and performance evaluations under the direction of senior management.
  • Provide organizational support, account strategies, and territory planning to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Assist in contract negotiations, closing sales, and developing marketing plans for key accounts, with guidance from senior managers.
  • Maintain cooperative and professional communications with all levels of staff.

Forecasting:

  • Support the development and implementation of sales strategies to meet assigned targets.
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning by assisting in the research and development of short and long-range sales plans, and by contributing to regular reporting and plan updates.
  • Help monitor and analyze sales data to contribute to product/service planning and strategy.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications or Requirements:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Basic problem-solving and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to assist in building and maintaining client relationships.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with standard operating procedures and SAP.
  • Engineering degree or relevant technical background.
  • Experience assisting with the development and implementation of sales/marketing campaigns, such as brochures, sales collateral, email campaigns, and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Exposure to motivational speaking or presentations is a plus.
