The Department of Korean Studies of the Institute of Asian and Oriental Studies (AOI) at Eberhard Karls University Tübingen invites applications for the position of a Language Instructor for Korean (m/f/d) (Salary Group TV-L 13, full-time position) for a period of two years starting on 1 April 2025. Upon positive evaluation at the end of the two-year period, the post will be made permanent without further advertisement.
The duties of the position include teaching Korean language and Hanja in all Bachelor's and Master's programmes of the department, assisting with examinations and other departmental tasks in various areas, and advising and mentoring students, especially during the exchange year in Korea. Responsible participation in the further development of language teaching materials, as well as in the development of e-learning concepts, are also required. The teaching load is 19 semester hours per week.
Requirements include a Master’s degree in a field suitable for the teaching responsibilities (e.g., Korean as a Foreign Language, language education research with a focus on Korean, or a field within the humanities, social sciences, or education). Applicants must also have a minimum of two years of teaching experience in Korean language instruction at the university level, as well as native or equivalent proficiency in Korean.
Additional desirable qualifications include strong teamwork skills and excellent written and spoken proficiency in either German or English. Candidates are also expected to demonstrate an interest in intercultural and interdisciplinary issues. Solid knowledge of language teaching methodologies and a willingness to adopt innovative approaches will be considered an advantage.

An der Abteilung für Koreanistik des Asien-Orient-Instituts der Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen ist zum 01.04.2025 die Stelle eines Lektors/ einer Lektorin für Koreanisch (m/w/d) (E13 TVL, vollbeschäftigt) für die Dauer von zwei Jahren befristet zu besetzen. Bei positiver Evaluation erfolgt eine Einstellung auf eine unbefristete Stelle ohne erneute Ausschreibung.
Zu den Aufgaben der Stelle gehören die Durchführung von Lehrveranstaltungen zur koreanischen Sprache und Hanja in allen Bachelor- und Masterstudiengängen der Abteilung, die Mitwirkung an Prüfungen sowie die Mitarbeit an weiteren Abteilungsaufgaben in verschiedenen Bereichen, Beratung und Betreuung der Studierenden vor allem in ihrer sprachlichen Ausbildung auch während des Austauschjahres in Korea, verantwortliche Mitarbeit bei der Weiterentwicklung von Sprachlehrmaterialien sowie bei der Entwicklung von e-learning-Konzepten. Das Lehrdeputat beträgt 19 Semesterwochenstunden.
Einstellungsvoraussetzungen sind ein M.A.-Abschluss in einem für die Wahrnehmung der Lehraufgaben geeigneten Fach (z.B. Koreanisch als Fremdsprache, Sprachlehrforschung mit Schwerpunkt Koreanisch oder einem geistes-, sozial- oder erziehungswissenschaftlichen Fach). Mindestens zwei Jahre Lehrerfahrung im Koreanischunterricht auf Universitätsniveau sowie muttersprachliche oder gleichwertige Kenntnisse der koreanischen Sprache werden vorausgesetzt.
Erwünscht sind Teamfähigkeit, sehr gute mündliche und schriftliche Deutsch- oder Englischkenntnisse sowie ein Interesse an interkulturellen und interdisziplinären Fragestellungen. Auch fundierte Kenntnisse sprachdidaktischer Methoden und Innovationsbereitschaft sind von Vorteil.
