Mentor program
What is the mentor program?
At the beginning studying law can be very tricky. The courses, the exams, and papers are different. You need to meet different expectations than you know from school or other degree courses. Therefore, students often have many questions at the beginning. We want to make the start a little easier for you. You can get a personal mentor who can answer most of your questions. The mentors are students who have already studied for several semesters and passed the midterm exams. They are happy to share their experiences with you and help you with any of your problems. However, the mentors cannot help you studying. Learning is your personal obligation. If you do not understand something from the courses, you need ask your classmates or your professor.
How does the mentor program work?
You can simply enroll yourself for a mentor. The rest will be decided and organized from the mentor himself. Most of the time you will meet up and get to know each other. Of course, you can already ask all the questions that you have on that first meeting. Under normal circumstances you would go to a bar or restaurant which depends on the mentor. After that there will be no frequent meetings. But your mentor will be happy to help you with your problems and meet up with you anytime (if Corona allows you to do so). Feel free to contact him. Some mentors will suggest other meetings, too. However, this up to the mentor himself.
How do I enroll for a mentor?
The registration is done via Moodle on https://moodle.zdv.uni-tuebingen.de/. This PDF explains you how the enrollment works. If you follow the steps that are explained in this PDF you will see different mentor groups with their time and date for a first meeting. If you click on "Beschreibung anzeigen" you can also see the place for the first meeting and maybe further information. (This is explained in the PDF as well.)
After the registration you should keep an eye on your student e-mail account and moodle. Maybe the mentor will contact you there. If you have any problems with the application or anything else you can send us an e-mail at mentorenprogramm@jura.uni-tuebingen.de at any time. We will help you as soon as possible. If there are not enough mentors for all students, we will organize more mentors as soon as possible. Everyone who wants a mentor, will get a mentor.

Missed the enrollment?
If you missed the application, this should not be a problem. Please do not enroll for a mentor group if the frist meeting already ended. Instead write us an e-mail at mentorenprogramm@jura.uni-tuebingen.de and we will answer you soon.
