Short description | The project includes three experimental studies, which systematically researches what kind of synergy- and interaction effects the combination of computer-based feedback and strategy instruction has regarding the cohesive and comprehensive writing of expository texts. For the provisioning/supply of formative feedback, the innovative and evidence-based feedback system CohViz is used. CohViz is based on computer linguistic methods and can give a graphic feedback in form of concept maps automatically. Besides the effects on the writing performance, the focal point of the project is the research of underlying affective, cognitive, and motivational conditions of these effects. Therefore, not only classic survey methods but also physiological methods (monitoring of eye movements, electrodermal activity) are integrated to model underlying cognitive and motivational processes during the writing. Thus, the generated findings contribute to the development of evidence-based didactic concepts to promote learners within their writing of expository texts. |
