Biography

Pan Yi-Ling is a PhD student at the Institute of Transtextual and Transcultural Studies. She received her MA in Cinema and Audiovisual Arts at University Lumière Lyon II in 2019. Her main research interest is the Sinophone cinema, looking specifically into the transformation of identity in Taiwanese films over different periods, notably the Taiwanese films after 2008. Apart from cinema studies, her research also draws on contemporary continental philosophy, cultural and political theories, considering contemporary Taiwanese films from an interdisciplinary perspective.
