ISAP mobility programme with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México

Since 2020, the ICGSS has an exchange program with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) funded within the framework of the DAAD's International Study and Training Partnerships (ISAP). The program supports the exchange of 3 students from Mexico to Tübingen and 3 students from Tübingen to Mexico per year. In addition to the student exchange, the program also allows for the exchange of teachers and professors.

More Information about the UNAM

The UNAM is one of the most renowned universities in Latin America and, with 250 000 students, one of the largest in the world. It offers exchange students an optimal study environment with its very broad range of courses in the humanities and social sciences, as well as a variety of university cultural events. Students who want to develop their individual profile with a focus on Mexico can acquire specific skills through the courses offered in literature, cultural studies, and media studies.

The UNAM is considered a central partner of the University of Tübingen in the field of humanities because of the intensive academic exchange and a large number of funded projects.

Current calls for applications for scholarships of the ISAP program with UNAM can be found here.

- in January for the exchange from the University of Tübingen to UNAM (period August-January)

- in September for the exchange from UNAM to the University of Tübingen (period March-September)

Target Group

Students from the following degree programs: B.A Portuguese, B.A Latin American Studies, B.A. International Literatures, M.A Cultures of the Global South, M.A International Literatures, and M.A Romance Literary Studies.

Requirements

Students in the B.A. must have completed at least two semesters of study, students in the M.A. at least one semester of study.

An application form, including a curriculum vitae and a letter of motivation, must be submitted with the application. In addition, good to very good performance in previous studies must be proven (Transcript of Records).

Organization of the ISAP-study visit at the ICGSS, University of Tübingen

The organization of the study visit of the ISAP scholarship holders of UNAM at the ICGSS, University of Tübingen, is divided into several individual steps. The scholarship holders will receive information about this from the program coordinator and, depending on their responsibilities, from the International Office of the University of Tübingen.

The following schematic overview of the most important steps and deadlines should serve as support.

September	Application to the call for scholarships at UNAM
November	After being invited by the International Office, the application is submitted on Mobility Online.
December	Application for a room at the Studierendenwerk, online at https://www.my-stuwe.de/en/housing/ Recommendation: Book a starter package (“Starterpaket”) with your room (includes bed sheets, etc.). Apply for a visa
January	Choose health insurance Conclude scholarship contract (Responsible: Ana Vallarta & Prof. Dr. Sebastian Thies, Romance Studies Department) Register in Alma (platform of the University of Tübingen)
February	After the visa has been granted: Book a flight Conclude Learning Agreement (Responsible: Ana Vallarta & Prof. Dr. Sebastian Thies, Romance Studies Department)
March	Enrolment for the courses at Alma For the smooth transfer of the scholarship: Open a bank account in Germany Arrival After arrival: Registration at the citizens' registration office of the city of Tübingen & registration with the health insurance company.
April to July	Participation in courses at the University of Tübingen Writing the term papers and exams
September	Deregistration at the Bürgeramt of the city of Tübingen (approx. 2 weeks before departure) Exmatriculation at the University of Tübingen Deregistration at the International Office of the University of Tübingen
