Archaeotechnician training program

Archaeotechnician support archaeologists in their research, analyses and the interpretation of their findings. Excavating, documenting, surveying, data collection and interpretation are among the occupational activities, as well as inventorying and analysing finds.

The Department for Early Prehistory and Quaternary Ecology has been training archaeotechnicians for 15 years.

As opposed to an excavation technician, who usually earn academic degrees, archaeotechnicians learn their trade in a training program which requires no previous experience.

Although some lectures and seminars are held in English, this program's official language is German - on the German website, you'll find further, more detailed information.
