Zooarchaeology

Teaching

The Zooarchaeology group prioritizes teaching at the bachelor’s and master’s level, and we provide hands-on projects from materials in our collection as well as ongoing excavations in other wings of the department. Current course offerings include: Introduction to Zooarchaeology, Advanced Zooarchaeology, Diet and Subsistence in Prehistoric Contexts, Bone Taphonomy, Palaeoproteomics, and Microvertebrate Assemblages from Archaeological Sites. Our students have the opportunity to take additional courses from other departments and different wings of the INA that focus on topics such as isotope studies and bone tool manufacture and analysis.
