Somayeh Fatehi has been a doctoral candidate at the Institute of Political Science (IfP) at the University of Tübingen since September 2022. She holds an MA in Sociology from the University of Kurdistan and BA in Social Science Research from Payam Noor University, Iran. In her doctoral project, Somayeh Fatehi focuses on radical politics of care within feminist organizing of solidarities under “Jin, Jiyan, Azadî” (“Woman, Life, Freedom”). It examines how emancipatory feminist politics of radical collective care, understood as an alternative and transformative feminist politics, contribute to processes of social transformation in the context of precarious geopolitics of social reproduction in contemporary Iran. Drawing on ethnographic fieldwork with special focus on participant and non-participant observation in the real and in the virtual world, and employing qualitative methods, her research explores the challenges and opportunities that shape these forms of political engagement and feminist organizing in producing social change.
