Communication Networks

Research

The Chair of Communication Networks (EKUT-KN) works on design, performance evaluation, and optimization of communication networks. Research interests comprise resource management, resilience, cyber-security, and scalability. Current focus is on Internet technology, software-defined networking, virtualization, real-time communication, smart grids, Internet of Things, Industry 4.0, and vehicular adhoc networks. Methodologies are protocol and control algorithm design, modelling and simulation, mathematical analysis and optimization, as well as prototyping and performance measurement. The group regularly participates in the meetings of the IETF, the standardization organization of the Internet.
