Abstract

One of our major research programs has been focused on studying the underlying mechanisms of protein trafficking, organelle biogenesis and function in the plant secretory pathway, which consists of multiple membrane-bound organelles including the endoplasmic reticulum (ER), the Golgi apparatus, trans-Golgi network (TGN), prevacuolar compartment (PVC) and vacuole. In this talk, I will present an update about our studies on the underlying mechanisms of 1) ER-Golgi protein traffic, and 2) PVC biogenesis and function in plants.
