Friedrich Gabel opens the online lecture series “Inclusive Disaster Preparedness”
On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the online lecture series “Inclusive Disaster Preparedness” launched by the Baden-Württemberg Inclusive Disaster Preparedness Initiative began. Dr. Friedrich Gabel is moderating the series, which consists of six lectures, and gave the opening lecture.
On Wednesday, January 21, 2026, the online lecture series “Inclusive Disaster Preparedness” launched by the Baden-Württemberg Inclusive Disaster Preparedness Initiative began. The series, which consists of six lectures, aims to examine how inclusive structures are designed in disaster management in Germany, where problems lie, but also where promising approaches already exist. The goal is to bring together experts and interested parties and encourage exchange. Dr. Friedrich Gabel advises the initiative and moderates the lecture series.
In addition to the kick-off lecture, which was attended by over 140 people from all over Germany, five further events with different focal points are planned:
February 18, 6:30-8:00 p.m.: Disability and chronic illness March 18, 6:30-8:00 p.m.: Age and the need for care April 15, 6:30–8:00 p.m.: Migration and refugee experience May 20, 6:30–8:00 p.m.: Poverty and homelessness June 17, 6:30–8:00 p.m.: Gender and sexual identity
