Start of the federal-state initiative ‘Digital Teaching and Learning’

Networking and Transfer Centre (Vernetzungs- und Transferstelle) starts work

As part of the Digital Pact 2.0, the federal-state initiative ‘Digital Teaching and Learning’ is providing 250 million euros in funding until the end of 2030 to support the evidence-based, sustainable transformation of teacher training in the field of digitalisation. The Networking and Transfer Centre commenced its work on 1 October 2026 and is continuing the work of the ‘lernen:digital’ competence network. Katharina Scheiter and Dirk Richter (University of Potsdam) are the scientific directors. Other universities are involved, including Tübingen – whose project component is coordinated by TüCeDE – as well as Leibniz Institutes and the Forum Bildung Digitalisierung. From spring 2027, the Transfer Centre will bring together five competence clusters focusing on subject-specific teaching, AI, digital sovereignty, digital leadership and vocational education and training.
