Winter Semester Korean Language Course Registration

The Sejong Korean language courses are open to everyone. You do not need to be a student at the University of Tübingen; anyone who is interested in learning Korean is welcome to apply.


There is no tuition fee. Participants only need to pay a €10 participation fee.
If you would like to purchase the textbooks, the main textbook costs €15 and the supplementary textbook costs €10, for a total of €25.
Applicants whose course registration has been successfully accepted will receive information by email on how and when to pay the participation fee and purchase the textbooks.

If you successfully complete the course, you will receive a certificate of completion. If you would like to receive university credit, you can earn 4 ECTS for the regular courses upon successful completion. For the special courses, participants can earn 2 ECTS upon successful completion.


Regular Courses (From October 12 to December 17)


- 1A (Instructor: Soojin Lee): Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-9:00 pm
Recommended for beginners who are learning Korean for the first time.


- 1B (Instructor: Eunyoung Bae): Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-9:00 pm
Recommended for participants who have completed Course 1A or already have some knowledge of Korean, including the ability to understand simple texts and dialogues.


- 2A (Instructor: Boyoung Lee): Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00-9:00 pm

- 2B (Instructor: Suyoung Kim): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-9:00 pm
For 2A and 2B: Recommended for participants who have completed Course 1B or have a basic knowledge of Korean, including the ability to hold simple conversations and perform everyday tasks such as talking about food and travel, as well as a basic understanding of Korean grammar. Course 2B covers slightly more complex and specific Korean expressions.

- 3A (Instructor: Eunyoung Jin): Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-9:00 pm
Recommended for participants who have completed Course 2B or have an advanced knowledge of Korean, including the ability to give simple explanations on social or abstract topics such as holidays, rules, and hobbies; and use Korean grammar accurately.

* Please note that 1A and 1B are not parallel sections of the same course. 1B is a higher-level course than 1A. The same applies to 2A and 2B: 2B is a higher-level course than 2A.



Special Courses (From October 13 to February 3)

- Business Korean (Instructor: Inwon Lee): Tuesdays, 4:00-6:00 pm
Korean language course designed for use in the workplace.

- TOPIK II Preparation (Instructor: Inwon Lee): Wednesdays, 4:00-6:00 pm
* Please note the TOPIK II Preparation course is designed specifically to prepare students for TOPIK II (at the intermediate and advanced levels).

Course registration is open until September 30. Registration is processed on a first-come, first-served basis. 
Participants for the courses will be notified by email on October 2, 2026.

Please note that a course may be cancelled if there are insufficient participants.

For courses requiring a placement test, applicants should also submit their placement test results by September 30.
If you wish to take 1B, 2A, 2B, or 3A, you should submit the results of the online placement test to mail@sejong.uni-tuebingen.de by September 30, unless you are taking 1A (no placement test is required for 1A) or have previously completed a Sejong Institute course.
