Research interests

I am a rangeland ecologist with a broad interest in plant dynamics and conservation of rangeland ecosystems.

My past work focused on identifying the changes in species composition and size of soil seed bank during the growing season and the similarity of it to above ground vegetation in summer rangelands in the north of Iran. Recently I worked on the IMPAC3 project, testing plant genotypes and their utilization in cropping systems to achieve sustainable intensification of plant production in central Europe.

Currently, I am working as a postdoc within the NamTip project (Understanding and Managing Desertification Tipping Points in Dryland Social-Ecological Systems – A Namibian Perspective), focusing on identifying the early warning signals of tipping point at the threshold to desertification in Namibian savanna rangelands.
